about

"Migration" was inspired by the cacophonous banging of railroad bells. I was waiting for a Metra train one evening, and boarded the train with the bells echoing in my head. With some time and deep breaths, they morphed into tones from a double bass. I liked the idea of alternating between major and minor tonality, and wanted this song to embody the chaotic nature of Jonny Greenwood's work. Particularly, this track is inspired by his track "Splitter," off the Body Song soundtrack.
